Jason Bittner Bio

Jason Bittner was born on January 11, 1970, and is a professional drummer for many bands and artists. Like most, Jason started banging on pots and pans at an early age. He started talking professional drum lessons at the age of 10. Bittner continued to take lessons throughout high school. He was heavily involved in his jazz band there as well. Upon graduation, Bittner enrolled in the legendary Berklee Music College. In Berklee, Jason studied Latin Jazz, Theory, and music arrangement, giving his a great understanding for the drums. After Berklee College, Jason went on to play for a number of rock, jazz and Latin bands. The bands he is most commonly known for playing in is Stigmata and Shadows Fall. These are both heavy rock bands with a lot of double bass and other technical chops.

Jason Bittner is a very successful drummer with years of education and experience behind him. His band, Shadows Fall, toured with Ozzfest for a few years. This performance gave him recognition as Modern Drummers #1 upcoming Drummer of 2004. In 2005, Bittner also won Modern Drummers #1 Best Recorded Performance, and #1 Metal Drummer. Jason has played for PASIC, as well as the Modern Drummer Festival. Jason Bittner endorses Tama drums, Meinl Cymbals, and Pro-Mark Drum sticks. Recently, Bittner has released a signature drum stick, a Singature ride cymbal with Meinl, and an instructional DVD with Hudson music. Bittner is definitely a powerful force in the music community.
