Dave Grohl was born on Jan. 14, 1969 in Ohio USA. He started out as a guitarist early in his life, playing for a number of local bands. Grohl never really had the patience to stick with music lessons, and eventually dropped out of school al together to become a rock star. While he played guitar most of the time, he secretly started teaching himself the drums in his bedroom. Soon enough, Grohl decided he wanted to become a drummer. Dave’s first successful band, “Scream”, hired him as a drummer when he lied about his age. After years of touring, the band son broke up and Dave set out to look for a new band. With his connections, he joined his most popular band as a drummer Nirvana.
Dave Grohl played with Nirvana for the 4 years they were together. They were an extremely popular band, giving Grohl a lot of attention. His skills on the drums only grew. After the death of Cobain, the band split up. Grohl then started his own band in 1995 called the Foo Fighters. This is one of the biggest rock and roll bands to this date. Although Dave Grohl plays guitar and sings for the Foo Fighters, he still gets his chance to play the drums. He has done studio and live work for popular bands Tenacious D, Nine Inch Nails, and
